Internships

Our Mission

At LCG Foods, we connect innovative food brand owners and retailers who have a shared desire to do good for each other, and for the planet. We source the best foods in the world and bring them to markets where the gift of wholesome, natural, and nutritious food can be shared by individuals, families, and communities across Canada.

We stand with food innovators who dare to challenge "big food". We stand with retailers who want better products on their shelves - and in the process, turn their customers into raving, loyal fans.

We endeavor to do all this as efficiently as possible - while minimizing waste, taking care of our employees, our customers, and partners. We make a positive impact on people, communities, and the planet.

We believe in shared values - if what we do excites you, please apply for any of our open roles by sending cover letter and resume to careers@lcgfoods.com

Internship - Operational Efficiency Study

LCG Foods has experienced business growth almost every year since its founding in 2007. With organic growth, many processes have evolved to meet the challenges of "today" instead of taking a holistic view of how we should operate. We believe there are many opportunities to improve efficiencies around warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and logistics - core operational functions for a distribution company.

This study is expected to be completed in 10-16 weeks, delivered in 6 phases.

1) Learn about the business as it operates today by interviewing the staff and shadowing work of our various team members.

2) Itemize/document all steps of key processes. Gather information that is required to fully understand operational costs of each step.

3) Develop a financial model for warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and logistics to aid identification of cost savings

4) Assist in operationalizing data gathering required to maintain the model so that operational efficiency can be monitored, ongoing

5) Identify potential alternatives to current warehousing, fulfillment, and logistics (e.g. new vendors or approaches) and evaluate their potential impact to the business.

6) Present a set of prioritized recommendations based on business value delivered and complexity of changes required.
