Interview with Viktoria Brown, President of HoldTheCarbs

LCG Foods sat down with HoldTheCarbs's President, Viktoria Brown, and asked her some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know. 

What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today?  I simply couldn't find any products for my extremely low-carb, high-protein diet on the market, especially not a good pizza crust mix. So, I started experimenting with my own recipes. Once I found ones I really liked, I was curious if others would enjoy them, too.   What are your company’s core values? We would like to make healthy eating and, if desired, weight loss as easy as possible by creating products that can replace high calorie, less healthy options. Making alternatives to “cheat foods” is a great way to manage a sustainable diet that will make you feel good without denying yourself the indulgences.   If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be? a. No other company has cooking and baking mixes with as low of a calorie and carb count as we do. b. We cater to a lot of diets including keto, low carb, gluten free, and diabetic, just to name a few. c. Our high protein products are ideal for athletes, and make a good alternative to protein bars and shakes.   What are some of the challenges that you’ve overcome to bring your business to its current state? Balancing life with three little kids and running my own business is a constant challenge!   What do you enjoy doing outside of work? I enjoy endurance sports, especially running and triathlon. This year I competed at the ITU Long-Course World Championships, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, and won gold & bronze medals at the North and Central American and Caribbean World Masters Athletics Championships.
