Interview with Benoit, Owner of Cuisine L’Angélique
LCG Foods sat down with the owner of Cuisine L’Angélique , Benoit, and asked him some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know.
What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today?
It all started in 2006, when one of Caroline and Guy’s children was diagnosed with gluten and dairy intolerance. Caroline spent long hours developing gluten-free and dairy-free bread recipes that would taste as good as their conventional equivalents. A whole line of baking mixes was soon developed, followed by the iconic La Merveilleuse All-Purpose Gluten-Free flour, which opened a world of opportunities to gluten-free baking.
What are your company’s core values?
As food is one of life’s great pleasures, our mission is to offer tasty, healthy, and organic alternatives to the gluten-free and celiac communities. We are a Social Impact Company, and we give back part of our revenue to celiac advocacy organizations.
If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be?

What are some of the challenges that you’ve overcome to bring your business to its current state?
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Our bakehouse is located in the beautiful and pristine Eastern Townships of Québec. We are surrounded by farms and nature. We all enjoy getting together at the sugar shack and hiking or snowshoeing in the mountains surrounding Coaticook. Obviously, we enjoy gluten-free cooking using Caroline’s cookbooks and recipes from our website!
