Where are the products made: Skoy is headquartered in Encinitas, California. The products are made in Germany and Poland and packaged by The Arc of San Diego, which employs people with disabilitites.
What is the ‘key ingredient’ that makes your product line special? Skoy Cloths are made from sustainably sourced wood pulp and cellulose, which are 100% biodegradable and compostable. Skoy Cloths have an absorptoion factor of 15x their own weight, and are perfect for cleaning, wiping up spills and more. |

Interview with Karen and Michelle, Skoy Co-Founders
LCG Foods sat down with Skoy co-founders and best friends, Karen and Michelle, and asked them some questions to better understand the brand's vision, core values, and other topics that we thought potential retail partners would want to know.

What motivated you to start your company and create the products that we see today? We wanted to create a cleaning cloth that was better than anything else we had ever used before, and that was good for the environment. We were shocked to learn how many tons of paper towels (2.5 million!) were being used annually and filling up our landfills. While Michelle was living in Europe in the 1990s, she came across a product that was similar to the Skoy Cloth, and found it absolutely indispensable during her time there!
What are your company’s core values? Skoy is based on the Swedish word, Skoj, which means, “just for fun”! We wanted to start a business that we could have fun doing, and that would bring some fun into the kitchen. With the colours and designs of our products, we think we have accomplished this - while still doing our part to take care of the Earth.
If you could tell a retailer three things about what makes your brand different, what would they be? 1. Skoy Cloths are extremely versatile. You can use them on almost every surface, they'll clean up just about any mess! 2. Skoy Cloths and Scrubs are easy to clean and re-use. You can place them in the top rack of the dishwasher or washing machine. 3. Skoy Cloths save an average of 15 rolls of paper towels per month. Think about how much waste you can save!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? We love attending sports games and enjoying family time at the beach (with our new Skoy Towels in tow!).
